Congratulations to Alex Chomicz whose film "50 Years in Paradise" won first prize. Congratulations also to Marcus Leask, whose film "Boy Meets Girl" was named People's Choice.

The Hot and Bothered competition suggested that for many, putting the terms ‘modern architecture’ and ‘heritage’ together was oxymoronic - particularly in Queensland. The competition invited people to get Hot and Bothered about the architecture of modern Queensland: to make a film about a building they love and help identify the hidden gems of Queensland modernism.

The film competition was developed by the UQ School of Architecture' Janina Gosseye and Deborah van der Plaat, the State Library of Queensland, and Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection, and was made possible with the generous support of the Australian Research Council and project partners: Conrad Gargett Riddel – Ancher Mortlock Woolley, BVN – Donovan Hill and Wilson Architects
