19–20 November 2015, Ann Harding Centre, Building 24, University of Canberra
"The symposium “Italy/Australia: Postmodern in translation" aims to cast light on the international influences on Australian architecture and urbanism of the late 20th century. In particular, it will focus on the exchanges between Italian and Australian architecture, through the analysis of buildings, projects and competition entries and the investigation of theoretical production in Italy or linked to Italian architectural culture. Challenging the idea of a unique understanding of postmodern architecture in Australia architecture, the symposium strives to show how different responses emerged from the idiosyncratic architectural dialogue between Italy and Australia."
