WHEN: 6pm for a 6.30pm start
WHERE: Australian Institute of Architects, 70 Merivale St, South Brisbane

Speaking of Buildings: Oral History in Architectural Research reveals the radical potential of a research method that has historically been cast as subjective, partial and unreliable. Through twelve chapters written by an international group of scholars, it calls for a re-newed form of listening to enrich our understanding of what buildings are, what they do, and what they mean to people. Speaking of Buildings is published by Princeton Architecture Press, and has received generous support from the University of Queensland’s Ar-chitecture Theory Criticism and History (ATCH) Research Centre, from The Critical Practices Research Lab in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Monash University, and from the Chair for the History and Theory of Urban Design at ETH Zürich. The book was also awarded a Graham Foundation Grant in 2018.
