Hot Modernism: Queensland Architecture 1945-1975, authored and edited by ATCH members John Macarthur, Deborah van der Plaat, Janina Gosseye and Andrew Wilson, has been reviewed in the latest issue of Time and Place - the magazine of the Queensland Heritage Council. In a four-page spread, the magazine discusses the book’s importance to the history of Queensland architecture, featuring three of the projects described in the book: West’s Furniture Showroom; Queensland Cultural Centre; and The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Brisbane City. Dr Steven Miles MP, Minister for Environment and Heritage Protection, also took the opportunity in an editorial in the issue to reiterate his commitment to a working party to investigate innovate heritage conservation programs. The Minister first established this working party at the book launch for Hot Modernism in March this year.
